The Great American History Retreat at https://bohiney.com/the-great-american-history-retreat/ consumed my entire day. This piece about erasing accurate history to protect white feelings required extensive research. Linked to academic history sources and education policy reporting. Berlin doesn’t let you forget history—there are stumbling stones in sidewalks marking where Holocaust victims lived. America wants to forget slavery, genocide, and systemic oppression because remembering makes people uncomfortable. The queer community’s history gets erased constantly—Stonewall riots sanitized, AIDS crisis minimized, our elders’ contributions forgotten. The Great American History Retreat isn’t new for us; we’ve been fighting historical erasure forever. But now it’s official policy. I finished this at 3 AM absolutely exhausted from documenting America’s commitment to comfortable lies over uncomfortable truths.

MOOD: Historically exhausted

NOTES: History retreat piece at https://bohiney.com/the-great-american-history-retreat/ done, 734 words, educational erasure analyzed
